1. The number of integers between -2 and 2 is-

2. 2 subtracted from 7 gives

3. The opposite of -7 is

(a) – 6 (b) 6 (c) 5 (d) 7

4. Sum of -14 and 9 is

5. The number 3 less than – 2 is

6. Write TWO distinct integers whose sum is 7.

7. Arrange the following integers in the ascending order : –2, 1, 0, –3, +4, –5

8. Write a negative integer and a positive integer whose sum is –5.

9. Subtract : (i) 5 from –4 (ii) –7 from –4

10.Represent the following integers on number line:

(i) –4 (ii) 7 (iii) –8

11. A certain freezing process requires that room temperature be lowered from 40°C at the rate of 5°C every hour. What will be the room temperature 10 hours after the process begins?

12. Verify (–30) × [13 + (–3)] = [(–30) × 13] + [(–30) × (–3)]

13. A cement company earns a profit of Rs 8 per bag of white cement sold and a loss of Rs 5 per bag

of grey cement sold.

(a) The company sells 3,000 bags of white cement and 5,000 bags of grey cement in a month. What is its profit or loss?

(b) What is the number of white cement bags it must sell to have neither profit nor loss, if the

number of grey bags sold is 6,400 bags.

14, Find the product, using suitable properties:

(a) 26 × (– 48) + (– 48) × (–36)

(b) 8 × 53 × (–125)

(c) 15 × (–25) × (– 4) × (–10)

(d) (– 41) × 102
