**General Instructions**:

(i). All questions are compulsory.

(ii). This question paper contains 14 questions divided into four Sections A, B, C and D.

(iii). Section A has 5 questions of 1 mark each. Section B has 4 questions of 2 marks each. Section C has 3 questions of 3 marks each. and Section D has 2 questions of 4 marks each.

** SECTION – A**

1. Gayatri’s income is ₹ 1,60,000 per year. She pays 15% of this as house rent and 10% of the remainder on her child’s education. The money left with her is

(a) ₹136000 (b) ₹120000 (c) ₹122400 (d) ₹14000

2. What percent of ₹ 4500 is ₹ 9000?

(a) 200 (b) 1/2 (c) 2 (d) 50

3. 5.2 is equal to

(a) 52% (b) 5.2% (c) 520% (d) 0.52%

4. A bicycle is purchased for ₹ 1800 and is sold at a profit of 12%. Its selling price is

5. The sum which will earn a simple interest of ₹ 126 in 2 years at 14% per annum is

(a) ₹ 394 (b) ₹ 395 (c) ₹ 450 (d) ₹ 540

**SECTION – B**

6. Find

(a) The ratio of 3 km to 300 m.

(b) 50% of ₹ 50

7. Population of Rajasthan = 570 lakhs and population of UP = 1660 lakhs. Area of Rajasthan = 3 lakh km2 and area of UP = 2 lakh km^{2} .

(i) How many people are there per km^{2} in both these States?

(ii) Which State is less populated?

8. Out of 15,000 voters in a constituency, 60% voted. Find the percentage of voters who did not vote. Can you now find how many actually did not vote?

9.Find

(a) The cost of a flower vase is ₹ 120. If the shopkeeper sells it at a loss of 10%, find the price at which it is sold.

(b) If a chair is bought for ₹ 2000 and is sold at a gain of 10%, then selling price of the chair is ₹ 2010.

10. Find the whole quantity if

(a) 5% of it is 600. (b) 12% of it is ₹1080. (c) 40% of it is 500 km.

11. Find:

(a) 50% of 164 (b) 75% of 12 (c) 5/4 % of 64

12. Find the ratio of:

(a) ₹5 to 50 paise (b) 15 kg to 210 g (c) 9 m to 27 cm

13. Convert each part of the ratio to percentage:

(a) 3 : 1 (b) 2 : 3 : 5 (c) 1:4 (d) 1 : 2 : 5

14. Convert the given decimal fractions to per cents.

(a) 0.65 (b) 2.1 (c) 0.02 (d) 12.35
